September 2019: Tips, eNews & More!

It feels like just yesterday we were anticipating the hot summer days. Now as we transition into September, the first day of Fall is approaching on September 23rd. This is usually a month of transition as the weather changes, days get shorter, and the routine gets more demanding, especially if you have kids going back to school. Make sure you don't skip out on healthy habits to make up time. Drink plenty of water, brush your teeth for a minimum of two minutes twice a day, and take a moment for yourself to breathe and relax. All things will fall in place. While the immediate effect may not be obvious, stress and oral health are related. Stress contributes to grinding and clenching teeth, canker sores, and even gum disease. So, take care of yourself!

Gum Disease and Diabetes
We are told from an early age that daily brushing and flossing is important, but why? Having a daily regimen helps combat oral health issues like gum disease. Infrequent oral hygiene and improper brushing can exacerbate these issues, making it easy for the gum infection to occur.
Gum disease is an infection in the gum, bone, and tissues. Gum disease may eventually result in unstable base for your teeth, which then become mobile and may fall out or have to be removed.
What are the signs of gum disease?
